I really enjoyed this perspective.

I think it's easy to get swept away about the image of the company and not question personal fit (not saying you were swept away by image alone). The image of a company is not the job we take; the job we take might be mundane. The teams we work for might not be our cultural preferance. The company might not be all that we imagined it to be.

I try to emphasize this especially to entry-level developers, don't get caught up by the hype ... think about what you want out of your journey as a developer.

Interviews are a two way street, it's not just for interviewers to understand you, it's for you to understand the company and the team. Interview them as well, ask them difficult questions, challenge them with things that are important to you.

And if you find a job that doesn't feel right, even after giving it a fair shot, don't be afraid to make the move. :)

Really glad you found another job that fits you better and I hope you feel a lot happier!
